As already announced during the Atlassian Summit in Barcelona, the Scandio takes part at the 1 % Pledge movement with 1% time and 1% product.

The philosophy behind 1% Pledge is:

Building a Movement of Corporate Philanthropy: We want to change the world through inspiring early–stage corporate philanthropy. Pledge 1% is an easy way to leverage a portion of your future success to support nonprofits in your community. It’s a small commitment today that can make a huge impact tomorrow. The sooner you start, the easier it is–so join your fellow founders by making a pledge today.

This awesome movement has been launched in 2014 by Atlassian, Salesforce and Rally and is currently being supported by over 1.800 companies across the world.

Also we at Scandio aim to give back something to the community and want to contribute 1% of all products (own developed add-ons for the Atlassian toolset) and 1% of the employees’ working time off for community service.

If you are interested in getting our products for free, you need to be registered as a non-profit charitable organisation fullfiling the terms & conditions for an Atlassian Community License. Please find more information and the request form here. For questions please contact us via sales@scandio.de.

Regarding 1% time, all of our colleagues are encouraged to find a suitable project and to support it during their working time. When choosing a project you have to keep in mind not to pick organizations that discriminate based on creed, race, religion or sexual orientation. Employees can donate up to 2 days off for personal volunteering.

Examples of an appropriate choice of project are:

  • Building a house for Habitat for Humanity.
  • Donating your time at a food bank.
  • Cleaning up the beach, highway or park.
  • Coaching a basketball team of inner city disadvantaged young adults.
  • Participating in Big Brother/Big Sister programs.

All projects shall be recorded with a few pictures and afterwards be published either internally or externally via a short blog post.

You are having questions or adjustments? Please please feel free to leave a comment in the section below.
